To make the money you want to make, to sell the products you want to sell, to persuade the people you want to persuade, you need VISITORS to your website.

I'm going to talk about Ad Swaps, Solo Mailings and Viral Marketing.

All About Ad Swapping

One of the ways you can get started with almost no money and build a sizable list and income fast is via ad swapping.

It’s definitely not a perfect model. There are flaws in it as there are all models.  There is no one perfect way to make money as an affiliate.

The gist of ad swapping is you build a small list that you then swap mailings with daily.
So you guarantee to send someone else 50 or 100 CLICKS and they do the same for you.  You’re really swapping CLICKS not ads or mailings.

Most people build up a list of 100 to 500 and then start swapping it out.  You can easily get 100 to 500 on your list by purchasing solo mailings to other people’s lists.  I’ll explain HOW to do that in the solo mailing part.

You can do this in ANY market no matter WHAT you sell as long as there are other people with lists. Hey, I'll send you 100 clicks if you send me 100 back. I'll put your email in my autoresponder if you put mine in yours.

That sort of thing.

One of the go-to resources for ad swaps is safe-swaps.com. They verify the number of people on member’s lists.  You can do adswaps there and also buy solo ads.  You do need to pay a monthly fee for the service.

There is also the joint venture area of the Warrior Forum.

Most people starting out in adswapping do 2 mailings per day – one morning and one night.  Some people create pseudo names and mail their list 4 or 5 times a day under secret names.
I don’t endorse that practice.

One of the downsides of adswapping is people may send you highly questionable emails that you are supposed to send out, possibly even illegal or unethical ones.

Of course, you’re under no obligation to do a swap unless you want to and it meets your standards.  What I advise you to do is set up a gmail account under a fake name JUST for subscribing to all the lists of people doing adswaps.

This way, you can see the emails being sent and know more about the people you’re doing swaps with.

The other saving grace is that you’re almost always sending out an email for a FREEBIE because the other ad swapper is playing the same game you are – they’re building their list.  So while the product they sell AFTER the perso opts in may or may not be of questionable value, all YOU are sending to your list is a freebie offer for a download or report.  And usually these are no strings attached, meaning it really is a freebie, not something with recurring billing attached to it.

Most ad swappers don’t have  you send traffic directly to an offer because they want the opt ins and THEN make the sales on the one time offers AFTER the opt in.  This is the same thing you’ll be going.

It’s not a bad thing for the people on your list because every day you send them a new freebie, some of which are pretty valuable.  It’s hard for someone to complain about getting free stuff in their email every day from you.

Another issue with adswaps is your email provider.  MOST people doing swaps have a single opt-in list meaning it isn’t double opt-in and people don’t confirm they want to be on the list.
The informal guideline is that you need to keep your spam complaints under .10%.   That is NOT easy on an adswaps list from what I’ve seen. But I many adswappers seem to do it without a problem.

The COST of your list due to the eventual size can also become an issue.
I’m not an adswapper, so I don’t have the solution to the various issues you’ll encounter.  What I CAN tell you is it won’t take you long at all to meet a lot of other adswappers, and they’ll be glad to tell you how they do things.

This is how you learn the ropes – from others who you do swaps with.  Many will be happy to take 15 minutes on Skype to share their tips and tricks.
One thing I would NOT do is adswaps on a list that contains your BUYERS.  The reason is that your buyers will quickly get swapped around half the universe and will get more emails than they can shake a stick at.

Your emails will be buried and you’ll likely lose good customers.
Because an adswap list quickly deteriorates, you have to continually do adswaps to keep new blood on your list.

There are OTHER ways to build up your initial list.

You’ll find out that adswappers participate in Skype chatrooms.  You’ll learn about these from the people you do adswaps with. Ask them if they’re a member of any adswap rooms.
Everytime you do a swap, ask for recommendations on who they like to do swaps with.  You’ll quickly learn who to do swaps with and who to avoid.

The Secret Software Ad Swappers Use That
Gives You A Big Advantage

http://theclickmaximizer.com/

You’ll find out the tricks of the trade.  Like how some adswappers use a software program they can set to send X clicks to a URL. And as soon as that  exact number of clicks have been sent, it goes to the NEXT url and starts sending clicks there.

So lets say someone  has a list that can send out 1500 clicks but you only  can send THEM 100 clicks. All they do is  plug your url into their software program, set the clicks at 100  and the deal is done.  They’ll just send the rest of the clicks to other URL’s.

Using this kind of software, you could take a list that delivers 1,000 clicks and deliver clicks to 10 people all in one mailing.

Solo Mailings

In general, most of the things I said about adswaps apply to solo mailings.

However, in many niches there are ezines you can buy ads in or mailings to.  Not as many as there used to be. The ezine model as a way of making money online has come and gone for the most part.

But in niches, you’ll still find people who publish quality ezines you can buy ads in or send solo mailings to.

MOST people who buy solo ads buy them from the same people you can do adswaps with.  What people do is build up a list via adswaps then SELL SOLO ADS for revenue.
Some people build a quality list and end up being able to make more money sending affiliate offers than they can selling solo mailings. So they end up leaving the market and just doing affiliate offers to their list.

You need to build a relationship with your list to do that.

The problem a lot of solo mailers have is they ONLY send pitches to their list and nothing else.   They feel that people will be out of the market in 3-6 months anyway so they may as well get in all the promos they can!

Others follow the content > pitch > content > pitch rhythm.
And others find their own weird hybrid mix that seems to work for them and the members of their list.

If you want to buy solo ads, go to the same resources I gave for adswaps.

There’s actually a whole STRATEGY you can use to parlay adswaps into solo mailings into JV’s and becoming a super affiliate. Then parlaying THAT into launching your own product.
I explain that whole sequence in row 5 of Traffic Dashboard.

Most people have a very narrow view of adswaps and solo mailings and don’t understand how those activities can be woven into a bigger, much more lucrative picture. You can do article marketing.  Currently you’ll get about 2 clicks the first month.

The Way You Monetize Solo Mailings Differs From Adswaps

What I’ve seen is that people who do solo mailings monetize them differently than do adswappers.

Adswappers have an email capture page that gets people to opt into their email list.  Then, on the download page for the freebie they  have 5-6 banners for other people’s freebies or offers.
THOSE banners are how they monetize their business.

You wouldn’t think that those banners on the download pages would be that lucrative but they are.

In contrast, solo mailers  need a higher level of monetization.

So what they do is present 1 to 3 offers to people after they opt in.  In fact, I have the FUNNIEST story about this on how a friend of mine made $15,000 in one month  from a newbie mistake.

See, he was so green, he didn’t KNOW you were only “supposed” to present 2 or 3 offers.  So what he did was as long as people kept buying, he presented more offers!

He had a total of something like 12 or 15 offers.  I don’t remember exactly.  But a number of people according to what he told me actually bought ALL the offers for a total of $600! That’s really funny.

There’s a bit of a lesson in it also.  What I DO know is that people who buy solo mailings will experiment quite a bit with their post opt-in offers until they find something that AT LEAST breaks even, and in some cases makes a healthy profit.

Others don’t break even immediately but they do within 5 or more days from their follow up emails.  The ideal scenario is to have a strong enough offer or offers AFTER the opt in that you break even.

That way, your solo mailings are basically FREE!

How big a list can you build if your advertising is free?

I highly prefer solo mailings from a legal standpoint because I’m not obligated to send someone else’s offer to my list that might be questionable.  I have total control over my offer.

The Low-Priced Reports Market Penetration Strategy

This is the one that my friend and young prodigy Jason Fladlien used to rocket to fame in around 12 months.

His goal was to get so many  $7-$17 products out there being promoted by other affiliates that people saw him everywhere.  It’s not a pure affiliate strategy in that it requires creating your own $7 products and having other affiliates sell them for 100% commissions.

It IS one of the best and fastest list building methods and has a number of advantages:

a.  Just a few reports or low-priced products that catch on can build your list really fast.

b.  You’re acquiring BUYERS on your list.  One person who spends 7 bucks is worth many who simply join your email list.

c.  You make money WHILE you build your list.

d.  You aren’t obligated to send out emails for others that may have questionable value.

e.  You can create these low-priced products in as few as 3 hours once you’ve done it over and over.

Of course, your first few times will take a lot longer as you’re going through the learning curve.  But once you do it on a repetitive basis, you can crank them out quickly.

f.  You don’t need as much credibility to sell something for 7 bucks, which makes this a good strategy for newbies.

You don’t have to write a super potent sales letter to get someone to risk 7 bucks on you.  If you’re selling a report for $47 or more, the customer has much higher demands on proof and benefits.

g.  Affiliates love promoting $7-$17 100% commission products because they see results and make sales.

Ten sales of a $7 product seem much more rewarding than one sale of a $70 product because you made 10 sales vs. 1 and psychologically it seems like the promotion or email was more successful.

h.  It’s easier to deliver a $7 report than a $47 product.  All you do is link to the PDF on a download page.  You don’t even have to password protect it.  If someone steals it and passes it around, all they’re doing is building your reputation and list  for you because the people they distribute your report to will probably click on one of your links in the report and make it onto your list.

There's a script called Rapid Action Profits. A lot of the people who do 100% commissions use the "RAP" script. There's a whole network of people who use Rapid Action Profits and support each other and the script. It's a whole community.

The way you IMPLEMENT this is simple: AFTER people buy the product, you let them know it pays out a 100% commission. You turn your buyers into promoters. It's a thing of beauty. Do NOT announce upfront that you pay out 100% commissions as an incentive to get someone to buy the product. That will get you in hot water.

You CAN announce you have a 100% commission product if a purchase is NOT required. The thing you have to avoid is an illegal chain where people have to BUY the product to get commissions and then use this as an incentive to get others to buy. That would not be legal in some or most countries.

Anyway, this is a powerhouse strategy and can build a great list of buyers really fast. If you just start cranking out 100% commission products, you might surprise yourself what you do.

The viral report strategy

This is an oldie but goodie and still works.

Take a number of articles you write for article directories or blogs, add some articles from others and assemble into an ebook.

Then, you make links to your products rebrandable so others can insert their affiliate link and distribute the trojan horse for you.

Here's one of the PDF rebrander scripts I use.

There's also a free ebook on how to implement this idea at Ultimate Super Tips.

If the above was ALL you knew about traffic, you could do quite well. Of course, I have a whole entire Dashboard on the topic here if you want more assistance.
